Our doctor will assess if mega liposuction is a good fit for you, and then explain the procedure in detail. It’s also your chance to ask any questions or share any concerns you might have about the process.

Pre-Op

Before the actual surgery, there are some important things to take care of. You might need to do some medical tests to make sure you’re ready for the procedure. This is on a case-by-case basis.

We’ll provide you with clear instructions beforehand, including what to eat or avoid, and what to wear on the day of the surgery. Following these instructions closely is essential for a smooth and safe experience.

The Procedure

Mega liposuction follows a similar process to standard Vaser liposuction procedures but focuses on removing substantial amounts of fat from each treatment area, rather than solely on body contouring.

During the procedure, your doctor will make small incisions in the targeted areas. Then, they’ll use an ultrasound probe beneath the skin’s fatty tissue layer to break down the excess fat cells. Once these fat cells are sufficiently broken apart, a cannula is employed to vacuum them out of the treated area.

Mega liposuction is performed under anaesthetic sedation for your comfort.

Aftercare & Recovery

Getting Home

You will be required to be collected by a responsible adult to stay with you for the remainder of the day and overnight. Even if you feel normal, your reaction time will be slower after receiving sedation medication.

Recovery Timeline

Immediate Post Procedure

You’ll be released into the care of a responsible adult family member or friend.

An overnight hospital stay is not required.

Once home, you must rest and take it easy.

First Two Weeks

Expect to experience soreness and tenderness, but we’ll provide pain relief to minimise discomfort.

Compression garments are always worn post-procedure. You will be instructed on how long you will be required to wear these garments.

You should be able to start driving again after a few days.

During this time follow-up appointments will commence as organised by your care team.

Depending on individual factors, you may be able to return to work around the 1 week mark, but this will vary from patient to patient. Exercise can begin again after approximately 6 weeks post-procedure.

Two Weeks & Beyond

Follow-up appointments will continue as necessary and are scheduled by your care team.

You must continue to wear your compression garments as directed.

A surgical review with your doctor takes place approximately 6-8 weeks post-procedure.

Full recovery occurs around the 6 week mark, with full results evident in 6-12 months.

How Much Does Mega Liposuction Cost?

The cost to undergo mega Vaser liposuction varies from patient to patient, depending on factors such as:

Additional areas are charged at a smaller rate starting from around $2,000.
An "area" can refer to the lower abdomen, upper abdomen, both hips, or both upper inner thighs, for example.

How many mega liposuction procedures will I need?

What are the risks and side effects of mega liposuction?
As with any surgical procedure, there are risks, including pain, bruising, swelling, scarring, skin irregularities, asymmetry, fluid accumulation, numbness, and potentially unsatisfactory results.
Will there be excess skin after mega liposuction?
